Free Limited Ultrasounds

An ultrasound is vital to get important pregnancy information. You’ll want to know how far along you are and how your pregnancy is progressing (viable). If you’re thinking about making an adoption plan or parenting, you’ll want to know your due date.

We offer a free ultrasound scan to get you the information you need for whatever decision you make.

What Is An Ultrasound?

To begin the ultrasound, our sonographer applies a gel-like substance to your abdomen. A hand-held device called a transducer is rubbed over the gel to help transmit sound waves. The echoes of the sound waves create an image of the inside of your abdomen on a monitor which the sonographer will “read” for you.

Do I Need An Ultrasound?

You’ll need to know how far along your pregnancy is. The number of weeks you’ve been pregnant help in planning the next step. Ultrasound measures the size of the fetus to get a good indication of how long you’ve been pregnant.

Ultrasound shows whether or not you’ve had a miscarriage too. It may pick up the baby’s heartbeat. This helps you to know how things are going for the baby.

Finally the pregnancy is usually located in your uterus. Although rare, sometimes the fertilized egg implants outside of the uterus. This is called an ectopic pregnancy and can be very dangerous. You would need to see a health care provider immediately.

what’s next?

At this point, you’ll have all the pregnancy information you need to make a confident, empowered decision. We’ll sit down and talk about your plans for your future, your current relationships, and what support we can give you.

There won’t be any manipulation or a lecture. This is your decision, not ours. Only you know where to go from here, but you don’t have to walk through it alone.
